50 + Lazy Camping

Hi,  We discovered this campground called the    Cedar Creek RV park and campground at 126 Rose Lane in Montrose Colorado . We stayed in the Creekside Rustic Cabin.  We have included pictures of the inside of the cabin, the pavilion and the creek by the cabin. The morning sky was so pretty! This campground is close to many fun locations on the east side of Montrose. ~ 2 miles from the Museum of the Mountain West,  ~ 11 miles to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. ~ 11 miles to the Cerro Summit Recreation Area which is a Montrose open space area of 110 acres which is open year round and is a good place to snow shoe or hill sled in the winter. ~11 miles to the Cerro Summit State Wildlife Area which is for seasonal fishing and hunting and access is by foot. ~ 1 mile to the Star Drive-In Theater which is also seasonal. We like to go to this drive-in but after the movie it is a long drive home. Now we will stay here at the Cedar Creek RV Park after the movie. ~ 1 mile to the Alt

  Hi, Due to the very cold temperatures, we decided to get a room at the A-Lodge Boulder. Since we had paid for the car camping, they were kind to apply what we had paid towards a room. So we camped inside this night. Warm, dry and comfortable room! The furnace is a little noisy, so we took our sleeping bag into the room and slept very well! There is a cute little table area that was good for a place to sit and sip a late night beer. The room includes a microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator which makes it possible to enjoy a simple breakfast in the morning.  This location is perfect for exploring Boulder.  The Pearl Street Mall is just 2 miles away and there you can find art galleries, cafes, and boutiques.  The University of Colorado Boulder  has the Fiske Planetarium and Museum of Natural History. On the way home we saw unusual rainbows which were strips of color on each side of the sun. I wasn't able to catch a good picture of the rainbows. LAZY CAMPING: Make a quiche at home

  Hi, We were in the Boulder Colorado area and so we car camped at the A-Lodge Boulder which has rooms and car camping sites. It is located 2 miles from Boulder in the Fourmile Canyon. From the campground there is a lit up walkway to the heated restrooms which includes a shower. This was a very cold camping trip. At 7:30 in the morning it was 14 degrees outside. We reserved 2 nights but will look for an alternative camp for the second night.❆☃❄❅⛄ The Boulder Creek Path is just a 2 minute walk from the A-Lodge. The paved part of this trail is cleared of snow but the dirt part is not. This path goes all the way to the eastern reaches of Boulder. There are many other trails to enjoy also. The Boulder Flatirons (rock formations) belong to 45,000 acres of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks. This is a great place for hiking, climbing, sight seeing, picture taking, painting, or you can take a guided tour. This is a place we want to explore more at a later time.  Hi, We decided to try the cabin this time at Vega State Park. We enjoyed the campground the last time that we were here. So glad we booked the cabin since we ended up in a foot of snow during our stay! ❆ Vegas 5 camper cabins are rustic wooden cabins that can sleep up to 6 people. Each cabin has 4 bunk beds with mattresses, a table with chairs, storage shelves, wall hooks, electric outlets, dorm size refrigerator, coffee pot, microwave and a propane stove for heat inside. Outside there is a picnic table and firepit.  Our Lazy Camping meal was take out food from Collbran Cafe at 108 Main St, Collbran Co. We had split the chicken basket, shrimp basket and chef salad between us at the cabin after reheating in the microwave. We had such a good time here that we will most definitely be back to spend more time winter camping here with family, snow shoes and games for fun by the propane fire place!
