OVERNIGHT #25 MARYSVALE UTAH

Hi, We stayed at the Paiute Trails Inn in Marysvale Utah and we were in the triple bed vacation suite.

Like Pasty Cline who went walkin after midnight in her song, we went walkin in the moonlight around Marysvale on their deserted winter streets in the evening and morning.

The suite that we were in has a master bedroom, kitchen with new stainless steel appliances (including dishwasher), and family room that featured a 65 inch Smart TV with complimentary access to movies, sports and entertainment programming. The family room includes a large log bunk bed with double sized mattresses top and bottom, making room for four.  There's a nice recliner, futon couch that converts to a double bed. The kitchen is connected to the family room via a bar, complete with 4 barstools for casual dining. The spacious bathroom include a full-width shower.

We really enjoyed watching an old movie, Back to the Future on the big screen!

Marysvale is a town in Paiute county Utah with a population of around 500. It is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise with ATV trails, colorful mountain roads, canyon streams.  Great for snowmobiling, camping, hiking, cycling, fishing river rafting and gold panning.
Cottonwoods Downs is Marysvale city park which is by Marysvale Community Center. There is also Memorial Park east of the community center.

While we were in this area, we visited Butch Cassidy's ( Robert Leroy Parker) boy hood home which is just south of Circleville, Utah. He was the oldest of 13 children and grew up on a small ranch. The cabin is on highway 89.  Admission is free and there is ample parking and restrooms.

Another discovery was the paved Candy Mountain Express Bike Trail that follows the route of the former Marysvale Line of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad. Along the trail you will enjoy splendid canyon scenery, with colorful rock formations and views of the Sevier River.
The trail begins .7 mile south from exit 23 off Interstate 70 and goes 8 miles and ends at Whistlestop Trailhead near Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort on Hwy 89.

One thing that we want to do when the snow is gone is to go to Miners Park which is up Bullion Canyon. To get to the canyon, turn west onto Center Street in Marysvale and this street becomes Bullion Canyon road. Drive for about 5 miles and you will see a sign marking the start point for Canyon of Gold Driving Tours. There is a box of related brochures that will explain what you are seeing along the main road as you travel up the canyon. There are nine marked tour stops along the 2.5 miles to Miners' Park. At the end there is a hike to a 50 ft. waterfall.

LAZY CAMPING MEAL:  This is a twist on our standard camping meal of instant grits, bacon bits and cheese. At home we smoked some cheese curds and this gave our grits a tasty smokey flavor.

Have a good Day and Night.
