PLACE 49 Palisade

 Hi,  The Riverbend Park is probably the best area of Palisade. It is located along the Colorado River. The paved bike/walking path gives great view of the river for 1.75 mile. The amenities of this park are: benches, gazebo, disc golf course, playground, ponds, trail, boat ramp and bicycle park.

Another park is the Palisade Park Veterans Memorial Park. The amenities here is a community center, basketball court, gazebo, picnic tables, playground, skate park. The community center has multiple kitchens and activity rooms that can be rented for weddings or other special events.

There are historical walking tours of varying places and lengths or self guided tour of the downtown.  The map can be obtained from the Palisade Branch Library at 119 west 3rd St. 

Tim Wedel has worked in his Palisade Clay Studio for over 30 years. All his pottery is created by hand. He does teaching workshops which include clay, glazing and firing.

We also discovered a very convenient campground call Palisade Base Camp. There are tent sites by the river, cabins and full service RV hook up sites. This is just one mile from historic downtown Palisade.

Some of the festivals held here are: Palisade Honey Bee Fest, Outdoor Heritage Days, Palisade Bluegrass & Roots Festival, Colorado Lavender Festival, July 4th Parade, Colorado Mountain Winefest,  Palisade Art Festival, Olde Fashioned Christmas. Lodging around here would be most fun at the vineyards. There are several to choose from and the list is at  palisadecoc.com
