OVERNIGHT #15 Sun Outdoors Arches Gateway / A PRESERVE / 2 SCENIC DRIVES HWY 279 & HWY 128

Hi, Today we discovered that the Scott M. Matheson Wetlands Preserve can be accessed on either side of this campground. The Preserve protects and maintains a rare wetland ecosystem and associated wildlife habitat and is open to the public for low impact recreation use.

There are steps over a fence on the north and south side of the park for accessing the Wetlands Preserve.

We took 2 more scenic drives today. First was the Potash Lower Colorado River Scenic Byway. (Hwy279)

Along this drive we saw some BLM Campgrounds, Petroglyphs, trail heads, beautiful red rock formations and a river sparking in the sun.

The next scenic drive was on the Upper Colorado Scenic Byway ( Hwy 128). We saw more hiking and biking trails and campgrounds, the snow covered La Sal Mountain and some desert landscape.

Winter was the best time to visit Moab for us. Its a great way to avoid the crowds.

LAZY CAMPING: Make a gravy of sausage crumbles 1/2 bag, 6 level Tablespoons almond flour, 2 cups milk salt and pepper. Cook till thick and if too thick add more liquid. We had this on prepared instant grits made thick.

Have a good day and night,
💕 50+ Lazy Campers
